Why Our Academy?

"Zain is the coach for my lad and he is absolutely fantastic. Great drills to work on with some matches but a really friendly group of kids who mainly live local. A real family atmosphere which is nice . My lad liked the technical side of the coaching and there was no hoofing allowed! I highly recommend."

"My son joined Anglesey Rec Academy in October 2024. He is a quiet young man but wow! The transformation has been amazing. Currently he is playing as the goal keeper. Anglesey Rec provided a qualified goal keeper coach to improve his confidence as a goalkeeper. Anglesey Rec Academy recognised the need for specialist training for all goal keepers and put on extra sessions for all team goal keepers. A forward thinking Academy with great foresight from the leadership team. I would highly recommend that you bring your child to the free sessions and see for yourself what is on offer. Great team atmosphere."

"My son joined Anglesey Rec Academy in October 2024. He has never been happier. He played in the Junior Premier league (and won the league) yet he was also missing something. My son moved to the under 15s team and has gone from strength to strength. He plays a year up and thanks to all the support he gets from his team and coaches he has been successful in securing his place at Burton Albion Development Squad. I would recommend all parents to give Anglesey Rec Academy a chance as this is a club that is developing players at all levels."

"Our eldest son Arjun plays for Anglesey Academy and we as parents have both attended every game this year and some towards the end of last year.

Arjun has progressed exponentially since joining the team. His self-confidence and self-worth was knocked following a bad experience at another local football academy. Since joining Anglesey he has been made to feel welcome, a part of a happy and stable, but fun and progressive team. The coaches have always safe guarded him and his emotional well being, and taught him values beyond just football at every opportunity. Teaching football to a young boy is easy - but what they have instilled in him beyond this has astounded me :- Learning to pick yourself up when down, respecting his coaches, team mates and opponents whether winning, losing or drawing and always showing this both on and off the football pitch."

"My son started with the club last year, (aged 7). His love of the game has become a passion since joining while before he was relatively indifferent! His determination to improve his football skills, stamina and speed to perform better was cultured by his coach who he has a lot of respect and admiration for due to the coach's gentle, fun and interesting drills. The coach always gives criticism in a positive manner, pointing out where improvements can be made and following up with praise of their good attributes. His dedication is shown through his timely arrivals for practices and games. It is evident in his mannerisms that he loves the children he coaches.

A big thank you to Anglesey Rec Academy for developing my child's footballing ability and also helping him increase in confidence.
