DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY

Our main goal when launching Anglesey Rec Academy was to create a welcoming and inclusive
environment for children of all ages and abilities. We wanted every child to enjoy football, build
friendships, and develop new skills — all while having fun.
Over time, this vision has evolved into a structured development pathway designed to support each
child’s growth in football:​

Open Development Sessions – Every child begins here, joining fun and engaging sessions
led by our most experienced coach.​

Observation & Support – Team coaches regularly attend these sessions to observe, offer
feedback, and identify players who may be ready to take the next step.​​

Progression into Teams – Children who wish to join a team are assessed and, once
registered,begin their journey through the incremental age groups within the Academy.
This approach ensures that every player — whether new to football or already experienced — has
the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment. From
the moment a child joins Academy, they embark on a pathway of growth, progression and a sense of
belonging throughout their time at the Academy.

When a child joins a team, they begin their development journey, progressing through the age
groups within the Academy and gaining valuable experience, skills, and confidence as they grow. As
players become fitter and more skilled — through their own effort and the structured coaching we
provide — their teams naturally improve alongside them.
At Anglesey Rec Academy, we believe that a successful team is built on committed coaches and
hardworking players. We encourage every child to take ownership of their own development and
fitness, bringing positive energy and enthusiasm into the team environment.

We also recognise that results vary by age group. For our younger players, success is not measured
by results but by enjoyment, learning, and progressing. As players mature, their teams develop
under the guidance of our coaches, and results begin to follow naturally. This balanced approach
fosters not only a winning attitude, but also the resilience, teamwork, and dedication needed to
succeed both on and off the pitch.

Our qualified coaches deliver fun, engaging and personalised sessions that support each child's technical physical and personal development. We offer flexible training options in safe, friendly, supportive and inclusive environment with clear pathways for players looking to progress into our academy teams or enjoying the beautiful game with their friends.
OUR POLICIES
We are passionate about sports and committed to providing the best coaching experience for our young players. Our management team has extensive experience in sports administration and coaching and is dedicated to helping children develop their skills. ​

​ Our players and parents code of conduct on and off the pitch is very important to us. We want to set the highest standards, through being respectful as well as competitive.
